Hosted by Linda Wattley
When you are a little boy, you can never become a man at the age of nine years old. A little boy should never be told he is the head of the household under any circumstances. My guest, Alan S. Charles is more than a survivor of life’s bullets, he is a victor. He is also another child statistics of not being diagnosed or treated for PTSD, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. This hidden illness coupled with his dysfunctional upbringing eventually caught up with him. He became addicted to cocaine for over 24 years. He thought it would be the death of him. Instead of death, he has been sober for over ten years.
He became an author and keynote speaker who shares his journey and wisdom with the world. His book, “Walking Out the Other Side: An Addict’s Journey from Loneliness to Life” is a must read for anybody suffering with self-identity, addictions of any kind, loneliness, depression, low self-esteem; and it explains how one becomes addicted and how to understand an addict.
Alan speaks to business organizations, schools and universities, parent groups, libraries, book clubs, and any audience of any size that may find his message beneficial. To determine whether Alan S.
