By TLBTV Show Host: Rick Amitin
From a storybook beginning, abandoned by her father at five, to refugee status at age ten Lily Amis has lived a life few of us can fully understand. Spending years in Switzerland before being granted citizenship Lily has endured relentless feelings of not belonging and being separated from family, friends, and all that was familiar.
In her memoir, Lily provides insight to the trauma suffered by being displaced. And, the struggles that accompany trying to fit in where you don’t want to be and aren’t wanted. Her beauty goes beyond her physical appearance and reflects an empathetic heart. Lily offers a way for her readers to connect to the larger world and understand the plight of losing everything before gaining a life worth living.
Lily is currently promoting the “Teddy Project”, a compassionate mission to touch children who are experiencing hardship. You can get more information from her website listed below.
In 2017 Lily published her first magazine. The free online magazine, Read My Mind, which is about publishing, books, music, movies, design/art, travel and history and is available three times a year (March, July, and November).
