It was the end of 2007.
I had signed up for a program to learn just how to facilitate transformation, and it was the first day of in-the-room training. Meaning, it was my very first workshop and I was watching the master facilitators create magic in a room full of teens that scared most of the adults who came into contact with them.
I marveled at how quickly they made the room feel safe enough for teens to begin standing up and sharing stories of tragedy and heartbreak. I cried as I sat in exercise with the teens, listening to their stories and sharing my own hurts and challenges. I left the workshop that day knowing that I had found a program that got results…but more importantly, I had found masters in transformation and I had much to learn.
Reverend Ahmondra McClendon was one of those masters, and her ability to lovingly point out where I was stopping myself and hold sacred space was exactly what I needed as I took responsibility and pieced my life back together.
She has remained a mentor and friend, and even come to play in my space as a client and volunteer at my events. Can you imagine a mentor walking into a room to learn from you? She is definitely one of my forever-mindful-messenger-models. 🙂
And I’m so grateful to share her and her wisdom with you today.
Reverend Ahmondra McClendon is an Ordained Interfaith Minister, Spiritual Advisor, Inspirational Speaker, Published Author, and Certified Master Facilitator. She is currently earning a Doctor of Ministry at New York Theological Seminary. She believes all individuals have the potential to overcome personal challenges and has overcome many of her own—including domestic violence, addiction, and depression—on her life journey. Her philosophy is that everyone is entitled to be happy and live purposeful lives. Spirituality is our birthright, and should be claimed.
Through Circle of Consciousness, her online Global Ministry, she inspires individuals to reach their highest potential. Whether she is delivering stimulating sermons, transformational workshops, or impactful trainings, she recognizes limitations aren’t permanent. Regardless of their religious traditions or non-religious backgrounds, all individuals are Divine Being and therefore have the power to overcome, transform, and become who they are here to be.
In this episode, we talked about what stops us from moving forward, and what we can do to tune into our inner voice and keep moving forward.
The insights and tools she shares will make you giggle and get you results.
