It was the third most cognizable scandal for a betting incident in Major League Baseball history, yet it is never as publicized or well known as the Black Sox scandal of 1919 or the removal of Pete Rose from Major League Baseball for gambling on baseball games during the 1980’s.

The scandal itself was well covered by the press during the off season of 1926 to 1927. It became by far the biggest news event throughout this country and just about every major newspaper covered it.

The participants in the whole affair included: Baseball Icons: Ty Cobb and Tris Speaker, ex Major Leaguer, Joe Wood, American League President Ban Johnson and … Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis.

This is the first book written on the subject and how the affair changed baseball forever.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
