Domestic violence has been around since the second generation of man. You only need go to the most well known historical book to see… the Bible, Genesis 4:8. Here Cain kills his own brother Abel. Many assume domestic violence is only between spouses, but the laws surrounding this in the United States are basically this, as stated on the website of The United States Department of Justice (Domestic-Violence),

“…committed by a current or former spouse or intimate partner of the victim,

by a person with whom the victim shares a child in common,

by a person who is cohabitating with or has cohabitated with the victim as a spouse or intimate partner,

by a person similarly situated to a spouse of the victim under the domestic or family violence laws of the jurisdiction receiving grant monies, or

by any other person against an adult or youth victim who is protected from that person’s acts under the domestic or family violence laws of the jurisdiction, committed by a current or former spouse or intimate partner of the victim,

by a person with whom the victim shares a child in common, by a person who is cohabitating with or has cohabitated with the victim as a spouse or intimate partner,

by a person similarly situated to a spouse of the victim under the domestic or family violence laws of the jurisdiction receiving grant monies, or

by any other person against an adult or youth victim who is protected from that person’s acts under the domestic or family violence laws of the jurisdiction.”

Relationships have many facets and they all have ups and downs. Determining if you are being a victim of violence is a crucial part in overcoming it. Let’s look at recognizing some of the signs so you can protect yourself. Focusing on themselves, isolating you from friends and family, belittle you, threaten you, stalk you or want to know all your whereabouts, who you talk to and what is said, blame you and take no responsibility for their actions, and control the things you do.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … TLB
