In The Crosshairs – The Liberty First Foundation, Enacting Lasting Change – With Guest, Co-founding Member of The L1F, Michael Marshall

National group of gun enthusiasts spearhead new website project to combat the onslaught of incorrect and misleading news surrounding firearms.

“We got started because we were tired of these politicians always treading all over our Second Amendment rights,” said Michael Marshall, co-founding member of The Liberty First Foundation, a national group organized to impact political policy and remove the negative stigma of firearm ownership.

“We were tired of all the misinformation that was being put out there to the public, who are uneducated about firearms.”

Marshall said the public does not know that the politicians and the media are misinformed about firearms – themselves. “The politicians that say the AR-15 is a rifle that is capable of shooting a gazillion rounds that destroys tanks and everything else, are ridiculous putting that out there.”

He said L1R is determined to counter the misinformation. “I believe that our most basic right, a right that predates our right to free speech is our right to survival, our right to self-protection.”

“If you go back into our history, back when we were caveman living on the land, we were the hunted,” said Marshall, who is a radio communications technician. “We were the prey for the top predators.” The use of weapons changed that, he said.

“Just because we have evolved, and weapons have evolved, does not mean we still don’t need those same levels of protection,” he added. “If we don’t have that protection, then we go back to being the prey.”

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … TLB
