If elected in Nov. 2018, Libertarian Party candidate for New York governor said he will act to repeal NY SAFE Act by 2020.
“In the first 90 days I will pardon those who were convicted of a Safe Act crime,” said Larry Sharpe, an executive coach and management consultant, who is the Libertarian Party candidate for New York governor. “I will also stop making it an enforcement priority.”
Using the bully pulpit, he said he will show New Yorkers how the SAFE Act is unethical, immoral, and unconstitutional. “It made law-abiding citizens felons overnight.”
The result is, more people go out and buy guns, said the Marine Corps veteran. If the objective is to have less guns on the street, this is not how to do it, he added. Sharpe said the Second Amendment is about choices.
“It’s not about the firearm, it’s about the right to defend yourself.” We can choose to defend ourselves in whatever legal manner we want, but he said we cannot make that choice for others.
“I choose to defend myself with my words and my wit.” Others may choose a different option, he said. The people, all too often, vote our rights away because they believe gun control laws will make us safer, said Sharpe.
“The NY SAFE Act makes ‘NO ONE’ safer.”

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … TLB
