The New York Democrat-controlled legislature will consider bills that invade privacy laws, due process protections and freedom of speech, all so that they can confiscate our firearms.

“These pieces of legislation are repugnant,” said Frank Johnson, founding member of Liberty First Foundation. “It asks to pass a bill that says they want your passwords to your social media accounts.”

Currently there are two state bills on file; S9191 and S9197 which read the same except that 91 regulates pistols and 97 regulates rifles and shotguns. If passed into law, New Yorkers must consent to giving their passwords to law enforcement before an application or renewal application for a license to carry or possess a firearm can be issued. Your personal information will be reviewed to determine whether someone is safe enough to exercise their Second Amendment rights.

“This is not in the best interest of any community, other than the community of people who want to take away our guns, and oversee the government who has the guns,” said Johnson, who is a Certified Firearm Instructor. “Just like the red flag laws – call it what they are – they are gun confiscation bills.” He said the “Password” bills and the “Red Flag” laws work in conjunction with one another.

“The red flag law says that somebody who is associated with the gun owner can go to the district attorney or a judge and file a complaint. The DA will issue a warrant to have them come to your home and remove all firearms in your possession based on the thought that you might be dangerous.”

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … TLB
