Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, Anthony Kennedy, announced retirement gives Trump another presidential pick and another battle with congressional Democrats.

“We are tilting back to a constitutionally-bound law of the land country,” said Dan Roberts, writer for AmmoLand Shooting Sports News – America’s favorite gun blog. “Trump’s appointment will have long term effects on traditional views towards the Second Amendment”, he said.

“It’s a critically important topic and selection in some ways even more important than Trump beating Hillary in the presidential election,” he added. “These appointments are for life.”

In the last ten years, he said SCOTUS has avoided its 2008 ruling in D.C. v. Heller. “The supreme court has ignored multiple federal district judges who are rejecting Heller.” Roberts, who is a self-defense firearm instructor, said some state laws ban firearms that are in common use such as the AR-15.

“Clearly, the Heller decision said firearms in common use and modern firearms are protected,” he continued. “Justice Clarence Thomas has written several blistering dissensions where he has said they are treating the Second Amendment like a second-class right.”

The supreme court is supposed to be a final check on the state’s actions, instead he said it has become far too politicized. “They are supposed to look at the founding documents of the country and say does this statute fall within the constitution and the bill of rights, whether we like it or not.”

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … TLB
