In the Crosshairs (Premier Episode) – Florida Carry vs Complicit Media on Gun Rights – With Guest – Richard Nascak, Executive Director of Florida Carry, Inc.
Hosted by: Raquel Okyay
Gun rights expert told Crosshairs that the media intentionally misleads the public and instead provides the facts concerning semi and automatic firearms.
The difference between a semi automatic and an automatic firearm is pew pew vs. rat-a-tat,” said Richard Nascak, Executive Director of Florida Carry, Inc. Florida Carry is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots organization dedicated to advancing the fundamental civil right of all Floridians to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and Article I Section 8 of the Florida Constitution.
Two common misnomers are that a) semi automatics are military-style weapons used in the battlefield, and b) automatic firearms are widely available. Both of these points being made in the media are not true, said Nascak, who is an NRA-certified RSO and Firearm Instructor.
Last month, the Florida legislature passed a $400 million gun control bill that raises the minimum age of 18 to purchase a firearm – to 21, imposes a three day waiting period, bans “bump stocks”, and gives law enforcement more leeway to confiscate guns.
“We’ve been compromising on the right to keep and bear arms since 1968. There are nearly 22,000 compromises – called laws – on the books,” said Nascak, who is a U.S. Air Force veteran. “At what point does the security blanket become the noose?”

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … TLB
