There has been a lot of speculation about the strength of our economy and what the future holds, but like what Guest Jeffrey Small, President of, “Arbor Financial” Author of new book, “Turning Financial Planning, Right-Side Up”, who is also a spokesperson, advocate advisor, Fox Business Contributor, writes “history repeats itself.”

While the economical climate of the new presidency over the past year is showing a positive impact, that could change quickly. There has been much scuttlebutt that soon we could see the same type of economical issues as 2008, which is a topic discussed on this episode.

After reviewing a copy of his book, I was impressed with how succinct and simplified he makes financial planning, especially for retirees. Not only was his book informative, his advice to viewers on this episode makes sense.

Jeff shared how much one would need to have in savings to benefit from investing in the stock market. He noted that if a person does not have more than about 1 million in savings, it is best not to invest. In addition, 5% is a number to remember. Why? Because this is the amount of return our goal needs to be set at just to maintain our current lifestyle at retirement. 5% isn’t a number to keep in mind only for this reason, there are several others Jeff shares.

This episode is eye-opening not only for retirees, but anyone wanting some great tips to make the most out of retirement and those who would like some insight about what’s to come and how to protect yourself financially.

Jeff’s Notes…

The Stock Market optimism from the Trump Bump is getting ready to become tangible with the passing of the new tax reform or tax cut congress is getting ready to deliver a huge Christmas present to the stock market as the new tax plans for 2018 will make the metrics of the stock market look more attractive by reducing corporate rates to 21% from 35%. There is no doubt that Wall Street is the biggest benefactor of this new tax plan combined with a 4 to 7% tax savings for various income earners it is a break across the board that will propel stock market values higher and keep the record breaking stock market at least in record territory and beyond until investors decide to take profits.  I have no illusions here that the greatest risk to the stock market is investor sentiment.  All you have to do is look at BITCOIN and the optimism behind that 1600% increase is the same optimism behind the Dow breaking 70 record highs over the last 12 months. This is the best 12 month run in the history of the markets.

Jeff Small, grew up in Brevard County and has been working with clients and their families for almost 30 years of industry & market experience. Arbor Financial is a boutique of Financial Investment’s. Jeffrey, dedicated to providing his clients and the public with an array of diverse financial products and services, is licensed with the Florida Department of Financial Services, a Certified Senior Advisor through the Society of Certified Senior Advisors and recently completed the requirements to become an Investment Adviser Representative. Both he and Arbor Financial are also members in good standing of the Central Florida Better Business Bureau and The National Ethics Association.

A little bit about Jeff….

In his first years in business, Jeff recognized the unfortunate reality that most of his retired clients were jeopardizing their financial futures simply because they lacked basic economic industry knowledge. It then became the goal of Jeff and Arbor Financial to provide free financial knowledge and information vitally important to hard-working Americans who want to know how best to save for retirement in an ever-changing and sometimes hostile economic landscape. This counter cultural attitude is also what sets him apart from his local competitors. And so, to this day, Jeffrey advocates it as a best practice that allows both him and his firm to give something back to the community in which he lives and works.

Both Jeff & Arbor Financial are accredited members of the Central Florida Better Business Bureau and The National Ethics Association. Jeff is also licensed through the Florida Dept. of Financial Services and holds state licenses in New York, New Hampshire, Maryland, Indiana & Georgia.
